The operator can input the flight schedule and use it for a variety of purposes, such as, aircraft routing and operations control.  It can also be used in conjunction with the input of the flight sector operating times.

The operator can develop a Daily Operations Plan automatically from the Flight Schedule and other sources of data, such as charter flying, maintenance, etc.

The Daily Operations Plan can be used to assign aircraft each day to flying activities, taking into consideration pre-assigned aircraft, aircraft maintenance requirements, etc.

Aircraft operations data (flight hours, block hours, cycles, type of operation, etc.) are either input to the system, or can be bridged from existing data collection facilities.  AMIS uses this data as the basis for Master Time Control on the aircraft and in all forecasting time-when-due reporting.  There are also several reports prepared for management and these times form the basis for reliability analysis.
